The Curley Community had a very special guest today, Mr. Bud Gahs, a 100-year-old World War II veteran of the 42nd Infantry Division (Rainbow Division), gave a presentation to and fielded questions from our students. Mr. Gahs spoke about his experiences as a young man serving in combat in France and Germany, particularly his experiences in combat and liberating the concentration camp at Dachau. Mr. Gahs advised our young men to learn from our history, to avoid wars, and to pray for our country.
Mr. Karl Dotterweich and Mr. Gordon Topper, Marine Veterans and members of Curley’s History Department, helped with the assembly.
