Curley celebrated this year’s Cornerstone Day on April 25th, commemorating the formal blessing of the school and placing of the cornerstone in April of 1962.
Following Mass, awards were presented in five categories: mission support, scholarship donors, outstanding volunteers, unsung alumnus and long-serving faculty/staff. A presentation was also made to the school, a gift endowing a new scholarship from Notre Dame Council #2901 of the Knights of Columbus.
Throughout the day those who were nominated by students or staff as Cornerstones of the school were announced, with the explanation of why they were nominated, and recognized with a small gift. An evening reception for this year’s honorees and school benefactors capped the day.
Archbishop Curley would like to thank those who have made a gift to the Cornerstone Scholarship in honor of someone who has made the school a special place.
