Curley Rising Senior Takes First in the Decathalon at USATF

Coach Gene Hoffman ’69 reports from the USA Track and Field Championships in Durham:

“At the USATF Youth National Championships, Ian Hoffman ’20 took first place in the 17-18 age group decathlon.In this he was first in his age group in the LJ, Discus, 100, 400, 110 HH , 1500. He was first in all the age groups in the LJ and discus. Sadly a no height in the Pole Vault ( learning curve – don’t pass too high). That could have added 600+ points to make it a run away. Now he knows(I hope).
Very hot, sometimes windy , held in Durham, hectic , busy , drive here is not fun.”
