Today begins Catholic Schools Week and the Curley community gathered in the Suehle Auditorium to celebrate the Eucharist. Michael Gardiner was the reader. The Curley Choir and the Praise Band led the singing. Fr. Matt was the main celebrant and homilist. He reflected on how the master teacher Jesus articulated the truth even when his listeners were trying to stump him.
After Mass, the Barry Brownlee Excellence in Teaching Award was presented to Ms. Meeri Kangas. Ms. Kangas teaches Theology, and was grateful in her remarks as she said, “You’re the greatest.” Fr. Donald, Mr. Kohler and Mr. Brownlee were onstage to make the presentation.
Mr. Barry Browlnee was a teacher, coach and administrator at Curley for over 25 years.
